Does anyone know where I can get the following things that look like Mac OS X Tiger?

That's all I need for now. I'm trying to create a Mac OS X Tiger Desktop.

I dont want to switch to macs....yet. Waitin around for awhile until I'm sure of what I want to do. I figure I should start acclimating to the interface tho.

The only thing that holds me back from switching to mac is lack of my favorite software for a mac. For example, Command and Conquer generals is not avialable on mac (I think) and there are countless other programs I use that are PC only.
And because PC parts are a LOT cheaper.
On the flipside I love the look and feel of OS X. Apple would make a killing if they made a OS X for PC users. Microsoft might even sweat bullets.

It's really pointless to ramble on about which OS is best.
I spend my hard earned money on the system that works for me.

I agree with kona0197. I would switch to a mac if it wasn't for the software.
They should make a windows to mac software converter, where you could for example, convert .zip files to .sit files. It would be expensive, but it would be worth it.

Hey genius, I've done countless graphics work on Apples, as they tend to be more standard in that line of work. And I'm not trying to make them look bad, because there are enough people like you to do so already. Windows users tend not to like Psudeo-Apple supports because they are just annoying, and Apple users don't like them either because they tend to be idiots and have no clue what they are talking about. I beg the question, has anyone who emulates the OS X ever actually used it? You have no clue how many times I've seen a 'Mac-Enthusiast' such as yourself walk up to an apple, move the mouse around a bit, and say "where is the start menu?"
Also if they are much "cooler" and "easier" as you say, buy one and show them your support. Rather than keeping up the monkey half-breed crap. Windows is by far the easiest OS to use. So easily that it tends to be stiffling, which is why there are thousands of shell extensions and replacements out there.
What problem with the software? Have you ever looked for software for an Apple... probably not because you're a windows user. There is no software compatibility problem with the OS X, anyone who has actually used it will tell you so. "BUT MY GAMES!?!", most major games get released for the OS X about a month later, but who cares as you'd be bored with them in a week.
They do, they are called 'enviroments'. As for opening a zip file on an Apple there's no problem, zip is just not their default compression method.
And I'm not making this a 'OS war' thread, as I have no particular fancy.

Ha, yeah, that probably factors in too. Hard to judge by popularity though when the bulk of windows users are, uh, not technically inclined. I mean look how many develop for Linux, and it's not nearly as popular as windows.

There are most likely infinitely MORE 'technically minded' Windows users then there are in Unix/linux....simply because of the relative total numbers using either.
Don't assume Windows/PC users are hapless.

Oh, you'd be surprised, I use to think everyone who owns a computer has at least basic computer knowledge. Then I went to college, where the vast majority of people I met only knew how to use AIM and 'dl mp3s from kazaa'. I witnessedd this sort of thing back in highschool, kids frantically shaking their mouse around because they think it will cure the BSOD or because a website could not be found. Back then I figure "hey, it's a public school what can you expect". And then I run into the same sort of thing in college, it's quite sad, and I wonder where these people would be had they not been forced to take an MS Office class at one point or another. So my faith in the average Windows user is quite low. And it's not just me, everyday I see atleast 4 or so commercials for software or PCs that basically come out and so "it's so easy even you could use it moron". I think it near impossible for a Linux user to be so technically challenged, after all if they were they'd probably never figure out how to boot the GUI.

The USA has [over] 200 million population.....Australia has [over] 20 million.
If one concedes that the lowest 10% of America's population in IQ were below average intelligence [simple stats curves etc will verify that] then there are 20 million Americans at the 'slower' end of the brains-trust scale.
Since that equates to the entire population of Australia having 2 million similarly afflicted it logically follows that Australians are more intelligent, having fewer of those 'challenged'.
This is clearly not the case....but if put bluntly....'there are more idiots in the US than there are Australians on this planet' then you will see my point....a million 'clever' Unix users being compared with a billion PC idiots gives a false result.
You need to compare the 'million clever unix users' with the 10s of million 'not stupid' Windows users....then it'll make more sense.
Maybe to a certain degree...those that can - do linux, those that cannot - go back to Windows...

I totally agree with Essencay because with Virtual PC you can run all your pc programs on a mac.
With mac's you don't have the BSOD.

There should be some sort of website where all the goofy lil PC users with Mac-envy, or whatever you want to call it, go to talk about how great Apples are. That way I don't come across dribble like this...

MAC/PC a computer is a tool and those who jump up and down and scream and shout or whine about witch is the best has in turn let a tool company turn them into a Tool.
Public Schools like them because you do not have to train teachers beyond the use of a few mouse clicks, almost all know how to type already.
Apple made one mistake that I can see and that is it followed the IBM Business Model or proprietary Hardware keeping the price high. But once the first PC Clone hit the market the death bells began to toll for that track.
PC users found that they could add hardware at a lower cost on a system that cost less and less as time went by.
With the PC there became a mind set followed by many where they had to have the biggest and the best which drove the prices higher on new hardware which took some time to drop. Hold outs that had finally figured out that the newest, biggest and baddest was often not worth the hassle of conflicts, price and gain sat back and their numbers grew.
IT departments which held large budgets to spend on new hardware kept the prices high for a long period of time also. But even they found that it was much more cost effective to not jump on the new hardware and software roll outs to break something that was otherwise functioning. It was best to sit back a bit, wait for the bugs to be worked out and the price to drop and for OS/NOS conflicts to be addressed.
The drops in price demanded by the consumer push the company's to build off shore where they could still recoup their 200% and higher profits and even to gain some where they had been working with a loosing product.
Apple will hang on for a time but will end up being a memory if they do not make some serious restructuring in their business model in my opinion.
They still have problems with their OS it is the nature of the beast. There are still conflicts in hardware it is also the nature of the beast.
So it is up to the Computer user, the one purchasing the system to decide upon which tool of choice they are best suited too and to decide if they own a tool or become a Tool...
It is almost like comparing Bic Pens to Cross Pens, one is as functionally to do the job it is meant for and both in the end run out of ink. One is 69 cents and the other is 15 dollars. (but can cost more depending on the model of choice)
