Object Will Not Work for ME

Tuesday, June 29, 2004 by Castle | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I can not get any links to work for any shortcuts I create with the exception of .exe's When I paste in the link to the folder I want to open and "ok"....nothing happens. I go back to the Item properties and the link is gone??????....WTF is wrong here?!

OD 1.02

try putting it in the Arguments field. Dunno if it will work, but try it.

If that doesn't work just drag a shortcut to the folder you want to add onto the dock..

f0r3....that seems to work for me but I swear I can remember being able to paste in the location of the folder I want to assign to a specific icon and having it work. I stopped using OD ver 1.0 because it pushed my CPU to 100%. 1.02 doesent do that but this had me perplexed.

thanks for the workaround

I was able to get what you've tried to work but there is a hitch.. If you want to open a folder just browse to C:\Windows\Explorer.exe for the link and enter the path to the folder you want to open in the Arguments. Keep in mind you MUST use the browse button to browse to the explorer.exe file otherwise the link box will simply get cleared.

HTH!
