Big storms here too(Texas)...Power outs,cable outs,floods,tornadoes.Nothing new here.

The power has gone off here every day for the last 8 days. Once was off for 23.5 hours. Monday, we lost power 13 times, each time lasting from 10 minutes to 1 hour. Lost power twice today..... so far. All this started during a monster of a storm last week. The trees that were blown down, caused major damage to the transmission lines. So yeah, I have to agree, storms suck. But heh!....whatchagonnado?

Thays why I have a cable connection But I do not remember the last time the power went off here.

I have a UPS, but it's getting old, and doesn't last long. A new one is on
my wish list, but that's a big list.

I was talking on the phone to a friend in Denver the other night and suddenly i could near the sound of sirens in the background. She told me that a hailstorm had just descended upon the city and the pieces of hail were huge.....pretty scary

I'd suggest a APC Ethernet Surge Protector....
be hell to have your system fried from the network cable because the phone lines take a hit...
