He left us a world of great music...and now he's got a great gig in the sky....betcha the stars are gonna shine something beautiful now!!!

He was 73.
He was one of the smoothest singers and musicians ever...his version of America the Beautiful is so awesome, it gives me chills.

Lots of people here in the Tampa Bay area are feeling the blues without a doubt.
Back when he was 16 he was playing with any band who would have him her ein the Bay area. He made a lot of friends here in the Blue Room, Manhattan Casino and Cotton Club. Manzy Harris was a friend he made while here which also passed a while back. Ray showed up here to do a concert when Harris was turning 90.
Hard to believe that Ray Charles was doing 200 concerts a year up until he turned 70 and then dropped a few from his circuit so he could rest a little in between
from the 40's until today, what a ride huh?
