why is it such a pain to open wincutomize?

Tuesday, June 8, 2004 by Urban1 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I have tried this for days now but every time i try to open wincustomize it shuts down, and gives me a white error page. When it happens almost every time it gets a pain, I can not open any librarys such as windowbnlinds or iconpackager and the last time i could not even open the front page, what is happening here, does stardock have server problems again? Please try to fix whatever that is causing this because this is not fun anymore.

What is the browser you are using.
When I tried Mozilla firewhatever? I had the same problem. I uninstalled and went back to Internet explorer and all has been fine since.

Others seem to have no problems with mozilla so I don't want to seem like a mozilla basher. It has just never worked for me and I have tried several times.

If ever that doesnt work just go in your account options and choose to show less screenshots per page and chose viewing for speed and not for appearance. That will make the pages load faster and IE wont freak out like it used to happen to me.

i get this quite often on my 56k modem at home. it normally happens if i am downloading anything in parallel. quite simply, there isnt enough bandwidth left over for this site to load, so it fails instead

what sort of connection do you have? dialup or broadband? are you downloading other things in parallel?

I never have any problems with using the site. Unless the server is down. I must say that some things still aren''t totally fixed since the last major server crash. Some libraries will only give you the first page.

I would try erasing all your internet files. Right click on the Internet Explorer start menu icon and go to internet properties. Then click delete files and delete cookies too. Then, sign in again. Maybe you should check through your document and settings folders and see if you have junk in the Internet Temporary Folders. There are more than one of them. I had a lot of trouble with the upgrade version of WindowsXP. It left a lot of junk from my old operating system. I solved that problem by creating the WinXP boot disks.
