Something to do when your work is rejected...

Thursday, June 3, 2004 by Ruchele | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

While I think my Logons are pretty good, I do base them most often on Desktop Themes or Wallpapers that I find exceptional, and because I do this, even though I add the permission into my Zip files, I OFTEN get reject for it here at SD. However, because I DO have permission to use the work that I do, and I believe both the artists work and my work on the Logon deserves to be seen, I often upload my work to other sites, and anybody can e-mail me for previews of my latest work and a link to where to download my stuff that was rejected here. People please don't whine about being reject, whine about all the viruses you get from downloading from other sites!! If you want to know where you can find other work of mine, just ask me

While you may think your work is good enough, here at wincustomize it is not your opinion that matters concerning whether or not your work is to be accepted, it is the opinion of the STAFF that matters. Have a nice day.

Not a good reply for the comment Watson. And while is true that the moderators have the last word on the uploads, any artist has the right to announce where his/her work can be found.
Lets try to be nice with eachother.

I personally havent had anything rejected from WinC, with the exception of one wallpaper. I still dont understand WHY it was rejected, but I accept that fact. I've uploaded it somewhere else, and its not to popular there either. No big deal. I agree with Ruchele.

Apocalypse, I will admit the comment was a little harsh, but it wasn''t to the part about where to find it, being an expert smart aleck myself, I sense quite a bit of sarcasm in the above quote, it seems like there was alot of other more harsh things he wanted to say, but didn''t want to get exiled for saying them.

But all in all I was a little tired when I made my first post.
Ruchele, Please except my humble apology.

Well, I wasn't trying to be a smart ass, but hey my brain does sometime fall to gravity! My point in the particular statement that Watson referred to is not to complain about being reject, it was just a not that I often get rejected because I base my Logon's on the art of others, even though I am picky about including the permission in the files. I don't mind when they reject me, though I don't understand WHY the 4 I uploaded last week ALL got reject and were all based on the same style that hasn't been rejected I don't know, they didn't even e-mail about those ones *shrug* so my point really was that since no matter what type of work I do, I get rejected lately, you can ask me for previews of the new stuff I have, and I wanted to give people another place to find my stuff. I have several more Logon's based on the same artist and style in with I did the Bifrost Bridge one that was so popular, but alas Rejected again! So there, now I whined and it is all out of my system *sniff* I think *sniff* Maybe I better just go sit in the corner, I'll take that Dunce hat now Watson

Actually, I have just decided that the whole point is moot!! I got to thinking about why for a year and a half not one of my skins was rejected and then all of the sudden all of them (even though they are based on the same style and artists as the others) have been rejected and I decided somebody for some reason just doesn't like my work here, so even though my stuff had been downloaded more 20,000 times, alot for 4 Logons and most fell to 1 particular one (the one I based the style of the 5 recent rejections on) I have removed my work from this site so that the staff member I seem to be offending doesn't have to be offended any longer. I used to really like it here. Bye to all....

Ruchele....if you are uploading skins, etc which are using another's images it is IMPERATIVE that you state in the description that you actually have specific permission to do so.

If an image says 'free for personal use' just be aware that public distribution in altered form or format is NOT 'personal use'....keeping it on your own computer is 'personal use'.

My guess is that these specific rejections were issues of copyright...

Actually it was all my very own fault, I fogot to give all my previews individual names so they all came out looking like the last one I did Now it is me sitting in the corner feeling stupid... Thanks to whoever put my stuff back up, I know that took time away from your day because I had a fit I am guessing it was Jafo... thank you thank you thank you
