Object Media

Can object media play audio CD's? I put an audio CD in my CD rom and was surprised to see that I could not find a way to make OM play it. Did I do something wrong?

ObjectMedia is a media player, but as far as I know, you have to have WindowBlinds, DesktopX, or ObjectBar configured to control it. I'm not sure if it works with ObjectDock since I've never used ObjectDock. But from everything I've read, ObjectMedia is not a stand-alone application. It's main advantage is that it has a small footprint and enables you to control the player through a WB skin, DX object, or ObjectBar which have been configured with media controls.

you can make it play on its own by using the systray icon but it would be more usual to use a dx media player object

Unfortunately it isn't as complete as a regular media player so it doesn't work for me. I believe it should play CD's but since I haven't used it in some time I am not completely sure. However I don't think it will look up track info.

well, I just loaded object media to tell you how to do it. Not only did it set my windowblinds back to classic and then bring up the WBconfig.exe screen, it appears that you cannot control the cd player other than to eject or a disk

unless I totally missed it somewhere. I also tried to create an object in DX which would use OM to control the CD...nothing there either. Oh well.

Werewolf... OM doesn't do anything to WB. In fact WB does do something to OM. Maybe this has something to do with it.

OM does not support CD-audio. I have a version which supports CD-audio, but since both WB and DX have broken OM I think it's better to quit its development.

Sorry.

Hi Madice!!!

Sorry to tell you this, but I''''ve repeated this 5 times with the same results. If I load object media from the start menu, windowblinds changes to classic every time, and the windowblinds systray icon disappears. After a couple of seconds, the wbconfig.exe window pops up and I can change back to a windowblinds skin.

It''s Object Media V 1.00g build 152
