Registry Mechanic

Could someone tell me of a really good Registry Mechanic, I want to purchase one but there is so much out there that I don't know which to chose. I purchase because it is, I think, the best way, because all the free stuff just doesn't do it like the purchased stuff, or I have not found one so far. I would really appreciate if someone could inform me in this matter and please if not too much trouble e-mail me on [email protected]. But please be genuine and don't let the nick Lolita fool you I am an old woman and a grandmother and the grand kids chose the nick.

I like System Mechanic, it has a lot of great tools. A registry cleaner, and compactor is just one of them.

I myself sugggested WinGuides Registry Mechanic , but im not partial or anything, just did a search on google and it showed up as the #1 downloaded

but before saying anything I checked it out and used the freeware, very impressive to say the least

Most importantly with any registry tool is too make sure that you use it properly. This means that just because a particular reference is listed as orphan, doesn't neccessarily mean that it is. I always check the listed orphan in the registry, and then check my system for the referenced file. It is beyond me why windows creates orphan registry files. But, this can definitely slow down and confuse ones system.

After yesterday this is just asking for trouble, but if your running windows NT/2000/2003/XP
and you wish to copy your registry before making any alterations (a recommended procedure) I think this is worth taking a look at.

Any decent Registry maintenance tool will include a backup function. System Mechanic does, and even if you forget to do the backup, it can restore your previous settings.
