2 Things: The spelling of the word 'Building' and games for adults
Sunday, May 23, 2004 by joetheblow | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
So here is my issue. I like to spell 'building' as this:
Biulding.
I like the way it looks and its far cooler than 'building'. I also have grave feelings about how the word 'Wednesday' is spelled. And don't get me started on January. I was upset for a few weeks because I had to spell January in a log book.
Second subject: Adult Games
===============================
I heard that the new 'in' thing to do is play Dodge Ball! that's right Dodge Ball. I LOVE DODGE BALL!!!!
I happen to think its the greatest game ever right behind that game where you have to toss a ball around to each other but when you catch it and toss it to the next person, you have to be in the air.
Anybody played Dodge Ball lately? There is an on-line groups for it and there might be a national league for it too.

[at least 1st line!]I always thought 4-Square was something weird they made up where I went to school. It was fun, I always got stomped at tetherball though.
Definitely into volleyball these days, though I broke my foot last time I played.
I guess you can spell BUILDING any way you like. One look at most message boards and you know that English has been all but abandoned.

weird is another one of those words as well. sounds crappy... well looks crappy, but sounds OK.
Oh thanks for letting me know what 4 square is. I was thinking that it was something like what I saw some adults playing in the village a few days ago.
they looked so cool especially one particular lady. WOW!
Looks at the word 'lady' doesn't it seem more to the liking of a womens shape? But not building.
Jafo, misspell building for me... or respell biulding as it should be
building.

Also, the lovely word "weird" is from another Old English word, "wyrd" which means "fate".
So Mr. Joe, I would suggest that you find a very Old English person and ask them to explain why!
Isn't the English language wonderful?!? Well, at least we don't have to differentiate between masculine-feminine-neutral when we define words, as some languages do! Mercy! Too many big words too late at night!
(More info than you wanted to know, (or not!) right????) Please note Mr. Jafo, I put my dictionary to use just for you!
Blessings to you all!Reply #16 Monday, May 24, 2004 7:09 AM
