can anyone explain to me how to get songs on winamp? or at least how do i get songs in a folder so i can download them onto winamp?

There are some sites on the web you can get free music (legal) downloads. Just do a search on Google or your prefered search engine.
Winamp can also play any music cd's you have if you put them in your CD drive.

i jsut did that, i went to www.eminem.com, went to downloads, i tried the without me video, it showed up in winamp, but didnt start playing

Are you trying to play mp3's? Or some other format?

If it is some other format, you need to find a winamp plugin for that format.
