How Far Can You S-T-R-E-T-C-H a buck?

Friday, May 21, 2004 by Essencay | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Other than food items, what things do you buy and use that still costs less than a buck?

In other worldly currencies this would be as of 12PM EST today.....

1.44 Aussie Dollars
1.37 Canadian Dollars
0.56 British Pounds
0.84 Euros

two bag's of fritos.

i remember when a buck used to get you a taco.

slightly off topic but when i was applying for financial aid, we were told that it was calculated a family of 6 could survive on 20,000$ a year, and anything more then that we should have been saving for college. subsequently, i was denied a loan because 'my father made too much money'.. i wunna know what fool came up with the calulation a family of 6 could make it on 20 grand.. especially after all of this inflation. furthermore i wunna know how much said fool makes, thesmelves, as salary in a year.

in high school we were given a lecture on how you could not possibly survive flipping burgers at mcdonalds because you would only make about 18 grand a year. so now the loan people say 6 people can make it on that. riiight.

Problem is there are a lot of items at our local "dollar" store that cost more than a dollar.

This is absurd. I refuse to answer anything here. Waste. Waste. Waste and more waste. Two Jack In The Box regular tacos. (Couldn''t resist). And if you really want to stretch a dollar brew your beer. O.K. enough. This thread is wasting bandwidth-rare dollars now adays.
