ObjectDock shortcut to a dial-up connection?

Is it possible to create a shortcut to a dial-up connection in ObjectDock? I've tried making a shortcut and linking to that, but it dosen't work.

I think you misunderstood me. I'm not linking to an EXE file. I want to link to a Windows dial-up connection. If you have one it is located in "Network Connections" in the Control Panel.

I see what you mean. But, I think you are complicating matters a bit. If you have a dialup connection, you have a internet provider, right? And, you click that exe to connect to the internet. So, why not just use it as a shortcut. You use it anyway.

That''s not the only way of providing a dial-up conection. In fact IME it''s rare compared to the ''normal'' way of creating a new dial-up connection in the ''Network & Dial-up Connetions'' folder. These items are special because it''s only possible to make shortcuts to them i.e you can''t copy or move them (easily, anyway).
To the OP, the procedure you described worked for me (Win2k SP4). I created the shortcut on the desktop (by dragging from the ''Network & Dial-up Connetions'' folder and then dragged that shortcut to ObjectDock.
Did you perhaps delete the original shortcut (on the desktop in my case)? I expect that the OD shortcut will then fail.

Chris is correct. My ISP does not provide an EXE to connect. They give you a phone # and you setup the connetion in WinXP's Network Connections. I AM able to make Windows shortcuts to the connection. But ObjectDock will not let you create an ObjectDock shortcut to a Windows shortcut (.ink file). When I do it, and click the OB shortcut, windows asks me what program should open the file.
The windows shortcut itself does not link to any file. It links to a long string of numbers and letters inside {}.
I found some other posts here and other places of people trying to do the same thing. But there are no solutions posted anywhere.

I found one idea that might work. If you create a shortcut to your dialup connection in the root of your C drive or any folder that you choose, then you can drag that shortcut to your OD, and right click on it to connect. Its probably not best to create a shortcut on your desktop in case you delete the desktop files, and then the OD link would be invalid. You can also link to control.exe with the argument ,,:: but that will only take you to the control panel. I'll continue to look into a better solution.
