its that time again. each year for the last 3 years i''''''''ve conquered my final critiques (we don''''''''t have exams, we have crits) in a different residence. this year''''''''s model is my little studio with a new desk and the good ol drafting table. you can actually SEE the desk this time!! the cats won''''''''t even dare enter. note the power drill used for binding a book 
i take a picture of the mess each time so when i think back about how much i''''ve been killing myself, i can get a chuckle, and say ''''oh yeah..heh.. i remember that. that book was 60 pages and took me three days to trim..

i'm hoping to have it cleaned up by tomorrow. you should have seen fall last year. i had to hole-punch 300 pages of sketches to put in a binder.. so the binding machine just exploaded and there were dots everywhere

An old boss of mine used to say to me "An Untidy desk means an Untidy Mind" . I don't necessarily ascribe to that, but, if that statement is true, Michael your in big big trouble.

i had a professor say that too me.. if a person is unorgaized it says something about them...
the studio is like this after most projects but never before, i look back on it and chuckle 'cause i know i've been productive it has to be clean before i can begin anything, though
my hard drive is wonderfully organized, actually my desktop sometimes gets wild but i try to devote the last few hours of my friday clearing it off like my desk.
