Strange BootSkin Problem

Friday, May 7, 2004 by DragonKid | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I've got a strange problem after using 1.05... When I rebooted my comp, it started up the way it always does when I'm using it, but instead of continuing to boot, my machine simply restarted then brought up a message that the load process was unsuccessful. I ed "Start Windows Normally" and it did the exact same thing. So then I went into Safe Mode to reset BootSkin to use the default screen temporarily and rebooted, but alas, the same thing happened. I finally had to uninstall ver. 1.05 just to try and log on to XP. This is also the first time I've had a problem with BootSkin, aside from my own skins not working (which is my fault). Can anyone help me???

Latest version is 1.05A. If you are having issues with it. Post a comment here https://www.wincustomize.com/newsboard.asp?id=2399 decribing what's happening and your system stats. Frogboy has been working on getting Bootskin to work on everyone's system

Here's my system information:
Dell Dimension 4500
80 GB & 120 GB HDD
256 MB memory
P4 1.8 GHz
Windows XP Home

Strangest thing was that I couldn't keep it from starting up. I'd go in Safe Mode and disable it from msconfig and it would ignore that, too.

And Essencay, I did post this on the link.
