Over at slashdot:
greg_barton writes "At first I thought this was a joke, but this article from Microsoft Watch confirms it: 'Microsoft is expected to recommend that the 'average' Longhorn PC feature a dual-core CPU running at 4 to 6GHz a minimum of 2 gigs of RAM up to a terabyte of storage a 1 Gbit, built-in, Ethernet-wired port and an 802.11g wireless link and a graphics processor that runs three times faster than those on the market today.'"

All Intel has to do is put together a decent chipset, like the old P3 440BX boards and with their close ties with Microsoft, AMD will be pushed out to the fringes if it survives at all. I still like and use AMD products, but that's just my speculation of the situation.

Personally, I dont give a damn weather it says 'Intel' or 'AMD' on the box...

If it works, then I'm happy.

Oh really people this is getting ridiculous! I say let's all go back to counting on an abacus and using different coloured spray paints to "skin" the beads. People might even get some work done. >

but you have to be 21 to buy spray paint around here. that would exclude a large portion of the auidiance..

'Chroming' is the issue with an age limit for spray paint.....anyone trying such stupidity would be better served sharing heroin needles....less dangerous...

i was out with this girl a couple summers ago. very hot chick.. we stopped at a wawa on our way back to a party and she walked up to the counter with 15 cans of whipped creme. first it thought it was kinky.. then she asked me if i'd ever done whip-its.. (inhaling the gas from the can). i'm like.. uuuuhhh.. hun maybe we should take a few of these back.. i let her keep two but for other reasons.
