Right-aligned titlebar text?

Wednesday, April 28, 2004 by ryanmsmith | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Does there exist a skin in which the titlebar text is aligned to the right side of the titlebar and expands to the left? Sort of like a reversed Be style? I've not had any luck.

umm... only about 4000 of'em....
If you want the titlebar text aligned to the right on a skin, just edit it in SkinStudio:
Windows Borders - Titlebar Text - Alignment = Right justified

Bingo.

Yeah... I did see that. That does work when the titlebar spans the entire width of the window and the content margins are set correctly. Tabbed windows are different.

What I'm attempting is a tabbed titlebar that is on the right side of the window, not the left as it is in Be-styled skins. This requires the tab to expand to the left as the titlebar text grows. This also requires the titlebar text to be anchored to the right side. In all of my attempts, the titlebar text seems to want to be towards the left side. Changing the justification to left, center, or right just seems to align it within a section that is still anchored to the left. I've played with the margins, the content margins, everything - nothing gives me the desired effect. Is it even possible? I'm new to this (I haven't done anything even close to this type of thing since the old Mac Kaleidoscope days), so I'm probably missing something. I've used Be-styled skins as examples to get a left-justified tab to work. Just one example of a right-justified tab that does work would be very educational.

I was trying like crazy to get that to work a few weeks ago, and I could not get it to expand to the left correctly for some reason. It was driving me insane. I dont know why it wouldnt work. I just gave up on it. Look over in the skinning messageboard, there is a thread called "Transparency in the titlebar." Thats got everything I learned in it.
