Desktop Background

I have installed the LongHorn theme on my computer and every thing works fine except I can''t get the desktop background picture to stay on. At first when I started my computer it cames on for just a moment and then blinked out. Now it won''t even come up at all. Can anyone help me?

It depends on a lot of things. The theme in question may have a DX wallpaper if it has a DesktopX theme. Or, it may not have a DX wallpaper but loading something else, maybe even a blank screen. But, I remember the theme that you mentioned as a quality theme. So, I doubt if this is the case. It is probably the problem mentioned many times as specified below.
What happens to your background? Does it become a solid color? My best guess is that the theme uses a JPG wallpaper and not a bmp wall in windowblinds. Windowblinds won''t load JPG wallpapers. This would explain the "blinking out". There are ways to check/correct this problem. 1. Open the Skin in Skin Studio. Check the Personality section of Skin Studio and see if it specifies a JPG wallpaper. 2.You could check to see if you have the option checked in Windowblinds configuration to "apply any wallpaper supplied". If the answer to 1&2 are yes, then you need to open the wallpaper in a paint program and resave it as a bmp file to the same directory. Then, set the Personality Section/Desktop Wallpaper in Skin Studio to load the bmp file and not the jpg file. Resave the skin and apply. This should fix the problem.
Or, you could just uncheck "Apply any wallpaper supplied" and load the wall separately in Display Properties/Desktop and it should not change. If it still won''t display then, you will need to resave it as a BMP wall in a paint program. This should definitely fix the problem.
