Perhaps We wincustomize should have a screensaver section 
I recently made a desktop X screen saver that utilizes the same tech that the Windows Xp 3d screensaver does
(I got the "turn a movie to a screensaver" powertool from microsoft)
It has 101 frames and is really cool
but where would I upload it

If I uploaded it I would just upload the .avi and put a link to where u download the powertool from

the screenshots are through...but the section won't be happening...in other words the 'avi' won't be accepted.

a virus can be uploaded in any section without detection (at least to my quite limited knowledge) so I dont see what diferemce this would make

The salient point is 'limited knowledge'.
An executable is somewhat different to a zipped pile of images.

Latin, no one will use that screensaver. It's just a 16x16 icon of DX. I"m sorry, but unless you can code or produce some 3D art, then no one will use it. If you made a 3D version of the DX logo with all the parts spinning around the screen, that'd be an interesting screensaver.

latin4567....I thought you were intending to 'lurk' somewhat....and wait till you'd learned about things.....being only 12, etc.
The reality is that there are far more deserving 'skin' applications wanting/needing a place on this site than a screensaver proggy you happened to find.....particularly when there are countless sites available with/for screensavers.
