I would also like to see this thread shut down...I'm a believer, a Christian, and I find many of the negative comments in here to be sad and discouraging. Especially when it's the day before Easter.

I've always seen religion as something to hold on to when things you can't explain happens, and also for keeping some sort of belief that there's more to life than just the life itself. Like a hope that you won't go away forever when you die. But that's exactly what I believe. Nothing can scientificly proof that there's something after death, we just wish there is, so there's a meaning to life. I'm one of those who thinks death is like eternal sleep, it's like regular sleep but you'll never wake up again. It's kind of sad, but I really think that's it.

Through history religion has caused most sufferance in form of wars, slaughter, terror, etc. 9/11 and 3/11 in Madrid are good examples of this. It's pure hate driven by a progressive religion - not saying the entire religion is like this, but the extreme over-interpreted. And unfortunately there seems to be a lot who sympathize with the latter. I'm gonna compare religion to sport fanatics. There are usually 2 teams that are "the big ones". Here in Denmark it's soccer/football and the 2 teams Brondby vs. FC Copenhagen. There's always trouble at a game and they always end up beating each other up, people get arrested, bitten by police dogs and so on. But only between those who seeks it proactive. I see it as choosing side, choosing what's the wrong or right team to cheer for. It's the same with religion, it's about how you should live your live. There are different ideologies, and some take it to the extreme in their "crusade" to persuade people that this is the only right path to choose. Seeing how it goes on at a football game, and how stupid fans can behave, it's no wonder to me that religion has caused so much death and fear, even though it should bring hope and joy to those who belive.
Erk.

I also think this post should be closed

I think it is extremely inappropiate discussing religion on a skinning site in fact i think it is inappropiate to discuss it on ANY forum unless its a "religious" forum
also it upsets people who dont do that religion
IT is also very very WEIRD to rendomly start start a thread about religion
It seems to me that you are just trying to stir up trouble or somthing (although that is just my opinion others reserve the right to think otherwise )

I believe the human race has a long way to go before it matures enough to accept responsibility for it's actions instead of leaning on fairy tales to be the source of good and evil.

Until such time as human beings face the fact that we create reality individually and collectively we are going to be killing each other over tennis shoes, cars, money, drugs, land, sex, war, and religion.

i believe,,,,you can believe in what ever gives you hope and peace of mind to get through each day ....what i dont care for are those who feel the uncontrolable need to push their views on others . believe how ya want, but DONT try to force your views on me .... religion is a personal experience...what i do hope is that, on my death bed there will something more than just nothing. those who want to deny us hope of an after life, seem to have the need to drag others in to their despair of hopelessness.... mysery loves company .....

ohh and orion .. if ya actually read the bible you would see it states we were created in his image/likeness.. not that we were created in his exact form....if that were true i know a few who would have been blinked from exhistance long ago

oh and the truth ????? truth is not an exacting science...truth is bent with preception . so this threads "TRUTH" is subjective at best .. the human mind alters fact from first contact. so even the "facts" you base your truth on are speculative .................the actual truth will never be revaled til you are dead .. then you will . know ......

This is an okay place to discuss just about anything you want... spamming threads however will not make them more appropriate, just more toxic.
