MyColors Themes

Monday, January 12, 2026 by PoSmedley | Discussion: WindowBlinds

So, MyColors is not compatiable with W11. How do I use the themes I've purchased? (South Carolina Gamecocks theme, Gloss Burgundy, Mint, Grey, and Winter) Ive tried installing MyColors with different compatibility settings but no change allows it to install.

You kinda of answered your question when you said "not compatible." MyColors servers are dead so you cannot install them even if the themes were compatible with W11 (at least the traditional way). That being said, I have had varying success using them on W10 with extracting the theme file with 7zip and installing the app themes individually. Worked sometimes with W10, but I don't know how well that will work with W11.

I've tried that, and you're right, it doesn't work with win11. The ONLY skin that has worked with for me is Oxidized. It would be nice if they could fix that on their end since we paid for them. I miss the winter Theme a lot, as well as the gloss grey, red, and green.

Giz made 2 themes for Winstep Gloss gray and Gloss burgundy...maybe you can reverse engineer them? Maybe with Lightstar's help? Just thinking out loud.

Theres a Gloss Mint as well. I also paid for the South Carolina Gamecocks theme which is useless now. I don't know if I have the patience to get into reverse engineering anything, let alone someone elses work.

Were the Windowblind themes that were paid for all get reverse engineered? Or is there something there that just needs removing or adjusting?

Po', I don't know whether they even still exist anywhere. The best I can do is ask folks at Stardock. I can tell you there haven't been a whole lot of requests for the themes from what I've seen in forums.

Keep in mind they won't look 100% as they did because MS has made parts of W11 unskinnable. I should also mention that what you purchased was the right to use Stardock's property, not the property itself.
