I need help please with Objectdock

Sunday, March 28, 2004 by myrddinn | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Running 1.00 with no problems for days but now it crashes whenever I try to enter the dock config with right clicking, rerunning Objectdock or clicking on the config docklet. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no fix. Can anyone help me with this please ?

Mine seems to be working okay. Did you uninstall, *reboot*, re-install, *reboot*? Perhaps a file got corrupt somewhere...try uninstalling, then download a fresh/new version to install in its place? Hope that helps.

I had a bit of a problem with OD the other day. It turned out that uninstalling and reinstalling the latest WindowBlinds fixed it up.

Look to the last thing installed before OD started acting up. That might be your issue.

Well, that's kind of the problem...I uninstalled CursorXP which was the last thing I REMEMBER installing, but with an uptime of a few days before rebooting, who knows. I didn't uninstall, reboot, reinstall, reboot. Maybe I will try that, thanks!

Did you add any new docklets? Move them out of your OD folder one by one to see if that helps. The new Scriptable Multimeter will cause that prob. I know if you move it out of the OB folder or dump it you'll be good to go.

Hello,

The issue is that OD will blindly load any DLL below the docklets folder, query it for a OnVersion export and blindly call that function without verifying that it exists and therefore crash utterly.

To my bad, I have left a dll over in a DesktopX ported theme called SDAnalogClock3.dll, which you will find in MMDocklet\Themes\AquaClockPort - that and your problems will be gone. Again, I'm sorry to have zipped the install from an AveDesk folder without testing it against OD (AveDesk does not exhibit this OD bug)

Secondly, I forgot to include the ReadMe.rtf in the OD zip.
I updated the download and hope you'll still have fun with the Scriptable Multimeter.
