Able to get rid of the start taskbar?

Friday, March 26, 2004 by adri1456 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I got the start menu button on Objectdock, but whenever I click on it, the start button (I hid on the top) keeps on popping up.

Is there a way to get rid of it (instead of hiding it)?

Sorry if this has been posted before.

On the Dock Contents tab in the configuration dialog, there's an option to "Hide the Windows taskbar" .... but, this will also hide the systray.

i know what he means.. even if you've fully hidden the task bar (on OB or OD load, for example) it pops back if some programs like windows update or norton antivirus flash a message from the system tray. in my case, i have Novel software constantly sending me stuff so the taskbar never stays gone.

is there a .dll or .ini file that can be edited to compeltely 'not load' the task bar? i know you can use a script to enable explorer to run the task bar seperately from the desktop and shell, so i figured there must be a way to not have it load at all while retaining full system functionality.
