Order the Windows Security Update CD

The Windows Security Update CD will be shipped to you free of charge. This CD includes Microsoft critical updates released through October 2003 and information to help you protect your PC. In addition, you will also receive a free antivirus and firewall trial software CD.

This CD is only available for Windows XP, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows 98, and Windows 98 Second Edition (SE).

Please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery.

If anyone needs Office 2000 Service packs you can also have MS send them to you free of charge. Got all 3 today. Sure does beat dl'd on 56K dialup. >

BTW - I do want to say thanks to goodmorphing for bringing this to my attention as we're always setting up new machines and needing to apply service packs

Despite having an 8Mbit link, it still takes a significant time to apply all the updates, and in that time a machine is vulnerable to the pesky worms. Having the updates on CD will mean we can patch them before we connect to the net now.

(yes, we could get them from Technet and burn a CD ourselves but I've just never found the time and if MS will do that for me then that's cool )

Thanks for the link I know that the updates will be old news by the time I get the CD, but like everyone is saying...it's a big time saver for setting up a new machine.

I had already sent for mine but didn't know about the antivirus and firewall free trial CD, I think I will stick to Norton's AV and firewall for the foreseeable future. Sorry Microsoft still don't trust you there.
