Animated Titlebar buttons

Friday, March 19, 2004 by Erik Holmer | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I'm trying to make an animated titlebar button in skinstudio.
The aniamation is in three states. I've tried to do as I do when I make other elements animated, by putting the three frames in a row and then save it as usual. But I have never done it with titlebar buttons before...
Anyone knows how to do this?

You could 'fake' it by animating the titlebar itself, and using trans/opacity on the buttons to reveal or hide the animations

#21 - oooh, I like that solution...very devious! BUT, can you hid a button on mouse-over another button? I thought you could only show them?

Take a look at this skin by PJPowell...... It has an unusual way of dealing with titlebar button animations. AND, this skin was made BEFORE WindowBlinds had the ability to animate titlebar buttons, so much kudos to Phil for achieving it.

So, I guess that title bar button animation only works with 6 frame buttons. Is there a skin that uses the "new method" of button animation that I could see. My buttons don't seem to recognize the animation frames. Thanks.
