adjust window positions

sometimes certain themes for desktop x adjust the window positions so when you maximize a window it allows part of the desktop to show.
#1) one of the themes permanently changed my window positioning so all windows open across the whole screen, even over the start bar, even though i like this, id liek to know how to fix it if i want.
#2) some themes would look better if the windows only opened to certain parts...
if anyone wouldnt mind telling me how to change it, itd be grateful!

With DesktopX open, make sure you are in Edit mode, then right click on the tray icon and Select "Configure DesktopX..." The dialogue window should open with the Desktop tab Selected. In the bottom right of the window, in the Theme area, click on the "Work Area" button. This will open a new window titled "Work Area Options." Make sure the "Reduce Work Area" box is checked, and then adjust the amount you want to reduce the work area in pixels from each screen edge. Whne you finish, close the window, then click the "Apply" button in the main configuration window before closing it.
