HELP!!!! QUESTION ABOUT BOOTSKINS??

i am new to this skin stuff i just started downloading it. I was wondering once i apply a bootskin how do i shut if off if i want to?? ya know restore it to the original im afraid to launch one incase i get stuck with it forever please let me know what happens, how it works.??
