Widgets vs. Objects mem usage

Sunday, March 7, 2004 by uM0p apsdn | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I thought I would save more memory by using widgets instead of running DX itself (with the same objects). However, I found no difference between the two.

They seem to use the same amount of memory, when I added all the widgets in comparision to DX. If this is true beyond my computer, what is the benefit of widgets over objects?

I can bring my widgets into focus without having to minimize my windows by clicking on their systray icons - a handy feature

I find that the Weather widget does not work correctly, when I try to change location it stops responding

It seems to run ok if loaded and left alone, but I don't live in Livonia

That's what I like about you, Stumpy. You're able to see the good side of things.

Shameless Designs has visited Livonia many times and wouldn't want to live there either.
