The Systray -> I tried and succeeded partially, due to lack of time, I abandoned it for a while (just wondering now where the hell did I leave the source-code
).Reply #3 Saturday, March 6, 2004 10:31 AM
Also, a docklet that ties into Media Player would be cool. I know you have your AVS player, but I think one that tied into either WinAmp or Media Player would be good to have. Skinnable like the AVS one too.
I had another idea too: A web page docklet. Just one that pops up a small text box when you click on it that you can type the adress into. Skinnable, and easily configurable. Heres an image of what I mean:

What do you think of that?

The AV3 player docklet is pluginable
. If someone knows how to interact with WMP or WinAmp, me a line and I will write the plugin for it.A web page docklet. |
I already have that here, not really skinable, but hey, it works

Sent me an e-mail to get it.

This http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e43cbe59-678a-458a-86a7-ff1716fad02f&DisplayLang=en is the WinMedia Software Development kit, and it says in the information about the download that Media Player is accessible through C++ coding and other languages. I've downloaded it and now I'm looking through it.

I dont really know what I'm looking for in terms of hooking into Media Player with C++. Have you gone through the SDK, Andreas?

a challenge right?
I know you can doit LeXus, show me the skills. I think this can be done just by linking the already existing desktop toolbar that can be place in the start menu(right click, toolbars, desktop)with the docklet.

For example: You have an instance of this docklet called Games. When it is clicked, it creates 4 shortcuts on the dock, aimed at Minesweeper, Solitaire, Hearts, and Spider. Each shortcut works just like a normal shortcut, and opens the game when clicked. When the docklet clicked again, it deletes these icons from the dock.
In this way, its like a menu that expands or collapses the dock. Make sense?

I'm gonna try to mold it onto my object dock as an experiment

I like that idea, CerebroJD. I had a similar one where a docklet acts like a cabinet. Click on it and it opens(slides out) perpendicular to the dock with several icons inside. The user can add or delete what is in the cabinet. There is a similar function in some of the XWindow managers.
Very functional and saves space.
