DesktopX question to Frogboy
Friday, March 5, 2004 by ooPogSoo | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
I'm a regsitered Object Desktop user (Frederick Pogu, [email protected]) and i'm having a problem on DesktopX.
I've downloaded your kid internet browser (https://www.wincustomize.com/window.asp?Cmd=PREVIEW&source=http://skins.wincustomize.com/Frogboy/dx/kids2002.jpg) and i'm trying to adapt it to my use.
The problem i have is that i can't resize the browser window (neither in properties neither in the script). In the DX Object list, i can see the width and height parameters but i can't modify them. Can you help me please on this and tell me how to do it ? That's really urgent as i want to make a browser with Dx for commercial purpose. If everything work out my company is going to buy the Pro licence and make a stand alone app from my adapted browser. Btw is it possivle as you've doen the scripting. Is it copyright free ?
Thanks beforehand for your quick answer.

Just a little error, the "About" link is under Options, the box right under resources

First of all, I would suggest that it might be more professional and effective to email Brad (Frogboy) with your questions/proposal. If you click on the 'About" link under resources in the left column of this site you can find a link to email him.
As to your second question, since I have not downloaded the theme, I would guess that the work area may be reduced to avoid covering some objects when the browser is opened. With the theme loaded, make sure you are in Edit mode. Right click on the DX tray icon, and Select "Configure DesktopX". Then on the "Desktop" tab, click on the "Work Area" Button. If the "Reduce Work Area" box is checked, you can either uncheck the box, or leave it checked and modify the limits to suit your purpose.
As to your last question, I'll just say that it is safest always to assume that the artist/author reserves all copyrights unless otherwise stated.
