SysMetrix, Rainlendar, Rainmeter
Tuesday, March 2, 2004 by RN2004 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
Can someone explain to me the difference and similarities in these programs. I keep seeing Sysmetrix 'with raineys'. Also some Sysmetrix skins have weather data encorporated into them. Does the Rainmeter have to be installed on your system for the weather data in your Sysmetrix to show up or is sysmetrix simply a program that duplicates some of the functionality of the 'Rainy' programs? Probably a DQ [ dumb question] but my eyes are getting blurry from reading and looking for posts that might address this. Also, please excuse if I posted this in the wrong section but Sysmetrix and the 'Raineys' are not stardock products I don't think so the 'general' tab seemed approp. Thank You all in advance

Maybe someone else can give you some input in regards to this or you can email stardock support and get all the information directly from them

| Do the desktop X objects i.e. the weather objects need the rainmeter or sysmetrix programs to work correctly? |
No
| Is there a pdf version of the desktop x tutorial? I am reading the one online but would like to print one out to study. Thank you in advance |
https://www.stardock.com/documentation/manual_desktopx.pdf under file tab hit save

Rainlendar is just a interface calendar. SysMetrix is a little more compleate program since it holds a lot of read-out information about your PC performance along with time, date, weather, media player control and few other info.
I have not use Rainmeter, but from what I have research, it does the same work as SysMetrix.
The reason why you see some SysMetrix skins uploaded with Rainlendars, is due to the fact that WinCustomize does not host a library for Rainlendar (yet) so artists will load matching raineys skins along with their SysMetrix.
