The two largest reliable records of complete animals are both from 20.3 ft (6.2 m) crocodiles: the first was shot in the Mary River in the Northern Territory of Australia in 1974 by poachers and measured by wildlife rangers the second was killed in 1983 in the Fly River in Papua New Guinea. In this latter crocodile, it was actually the skin that was measured by zoologist Jerome Montague, and as skins are known to underestimate the size of the actual animal it's likely this crocodile was at least another 10 cm / 4 inches longer.
The largest species of crocodile in the world is Crocodylus porosus, the saltwater or estuarine crocodile. In fact, this is the largest living reptile in the world, bar nil. Snake afficionados may argue that there are longer snakes, but none combine both length (over 6 metres) and body mass (over 1.5 tonnes) to reach such large overall sizes like the saltwater crocodile can.

Well, a drongo took mine... but it came back and hit me in the nose, just like a boomerang.

I rather thought of him as another opportunistic wanker riding the 'Crocodile Dundee' wave until I found out how much money he has put into preventing endangered habitat areas from being turned into shopping malls, internationaly as well.

Correct .... and being built like a small brick dunny and shaped like a launching ramp Wombats are the cause of 90% of road kills ...
Car hits Wombat, is launched into the air and travels on a Scud-like trajectory into the scenerey at a great rate of knots, usually killing the occupants on 'landing'.
Wombat grunts, dusts himself down and continues his journey up the white line in an even grumpier mood than before!

I had an insane mate who had a thing about Joe Blakes .... whenever we happened up one during a field exercise or other similar Army stupidity Johnny Rose (for that was indeed his name!) was inclined to grasp the reptile by the tail and crack it like a stock whip ..... if the day was warm (and they were always bloody hot around Oakey!) it was normal for the head to seperate from the rest of the snake!
I kid you not ... the pointy parts of a Big Brown travelling past one's ear at speed and in close proximity to the lobe would certainly spark up the adrenal glands ..... probably one reason why JR never made it past Corporal!

Only a real Drongo would nick other peoples' offspring ... a Dingo would have too much of a hassle unwrapping one and they'd be a pain in the butt to clean ....
