Is there a direct link to this or is it only available to ODNT subscribers through SDC? It's got a ton of info in it that would be helpful to newbies

PDF's are okay if there are links....but this one, like most doesn't have links and you have to use thumbhail view

I have found that reading pfds is rather pointless as all they tell you is how to wear them. pdfs, though, are okay for me. I prefer reading them over most anything else available on the computer.

The one other thing I like about .pdf files is that they print out very nicely, obviously, since that was the reason the format was created. Call me old-fashioned, but I find that having a printed reference to flip through while I work is easier than tabbing back and forth between windows.
On the original topic, I also wish this information were more easily available to the general public for answering questions.

you don't have to buy a product to download and install SDC. It's free.

That's true, but I think it misses the point of Essencay's original post, at least as I understood it. For answering fairly simple questions, it would be very complicated to give them a link to Download SDC, then give them instructions to Download the ODNT manual .pdf file, then tell them to look on page 'X' for the answer.
It would be a lot better for all concerned, IMHO, if the file could be available in .asp, or .html, and link to the relevant page/section. )
P.S. Putting my money where my mouth is, so to speak, I'd be happy to volunteer time, resources, and effort with conversion to make this happen.
