1280 X 1024

Saturday, February 21, 2004 by Technician | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

You have to really crank up the resolution to get the whole screen displayed.

At 1280 X 1024 I can barely read text on my 19" monitor.

I wonder this content was developed if the developers acutually thought people have monitors larger than 19" ?

I have a 17 inch, and 1280*1024 works fine for me. Text is fine if you have the fonts set larger.

I've been running my 19" monitor at 1280 X 1024 for years. I can read text fine.

There are tons of what monitor/res are you running threads here. Take a look and you might find that 19" is rather the low end anymore. Especially for people who make their livings sitting at a computer. And 1280X1024 is actually pretty big if you ask me. Try 1600X1200 or my personal favorite 1920X1200

1280x1024 on a 17" works great for me, as long as I have my glasses......... without them it wouldn't matter what res I used.

Go to Control Panel, Display, Settings Tab, Advanced, and change the DPI setting to Large. Then you'll be able to read your screen. That's the only way I can read my screen, a 17" monitor set at 1280x1024.

I'm here from the 'we have large monitors and are proud of them' brigade.

22 inch beastie here

1280x1024 normally. 1600x1200 when using 3DS Max

Of course I should say that I was on 17inch 1024x768 and 15inch 1024x768 monitors until last Monday.

1280x960 on a crisp 17 in is BEAUTIFUL to my eyes. i can read everything wonderfully and the brightness and color are matched because of the line def. now, 1600x1200 a 19 - starts to get tough but is still workable. 1600x1200 on a 21 - now you're cookin' with gas.

I definitly prefers 1152 X 864 to 1024 X 768 (but 1280 X 1024 are no so bad too with a larger font - glasses - )

Guess I'm just an over-indulgent Wombat .... 1600x1200 on 22" at 85hz refresh for day-to-day use .....1920x1200 when I need some graphic space.
Not easy to find a decent background but!
1280x1024 on the 19" at 85 is the back up now!
One day we'll ALL need a white stick and a black Lab!
