Can I get a little Desktop X scripting help?
Thursday, February 19, 2004 by LiamtheRed | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
What I'm trying to do is create objects that slide off to the edges of the screen for my startbar/clock/ect. with a click on the related end of the object.
Here's a pic of what I'm working on if it helps.
all the objects use a basic construction of an object area(Like the task bar) with a cap image set on both sides and set to have the object are as parent.
EX: of what I'd like to do.
For the task bar, I'd like to have just the left cap poking out on the right side of the screen, Upon clicking, the whole thing slides out across the screen. Then clicking the Right end cap will send it back to the edge of the screen where it started.
Thanks for anyone who can help, or dirrect me to some other scripting tutorial.

In that scripting guide look up Object.AppBar on page 14 and see if that does what you need.
If it's not quite right then you'll need to code it up yourself, which is reasonably easy to do - use the appropriate system and object properties to find the width of the screen, width of the object, etc. and use a timer to change the object.left property as you need, to slide it over.
If that's complete gobbledigook to you then ask away and we'll unpick it down to the specifics.
