WB not loading in Desktop Properties! :(

Tuesday, February 17, 2004 by nocturnia | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Running XP here. Haven't downloaded blinds in a month or so, but downloaded 5 or six in the past day or two. Normally, when download is finished, a text balloon appears saying "New windowblind skin installed" etc... Then I would go to Desktop Properties>Appearance and click on Windows and Buttons tab, and all windowblinds are shown there in the list. Now, none of the recent blinds I downloaded are showing up there. I have to manually open up WindowBlinds from the tab on the same properties screen, click on Install this skin now etc... and when I "X" out of that window I can click on desktop properties promts, "OK" "Cancel" or "Apply". When I click on "Apply" or "OK" in any order, the windowblind returns to the last used WB skin in the loaded "Windows and Tabs" list, which still will not show the 5 or 6 new WB skins I've downloaded. BUT... (drumroll please) when I click on "Cancel" on the Desktop Properties window, the skin which I've manually installed directly from the WB program, it will remain in place, THAT IS.... until I restart. Again, it returns to the last used WB skin in the Display Properties>Appearance "Windows and Buttons" dropdown bar list. I'm lost here. Anyone have a clue? Thanks.

You shouldn't loose any blinds, but back them up beforehand

You shouldn't, but to be safe you could copy them to the desktop or some other place, before you uninstall.
seems to be an echo in here...

Oh well. Had redownload exe and most of the wb skins. Apparently I missed more than half of them when I cut them to the desktop. I have files from A to C only hehe. Major oops. Oh well. And BTW, it seems the problem is fixed. Thanks!
