Windows question

Please help!! I am stuck for an answer- somewhere along the way, in all my fiddling and tweaking, I have lost the sidebar on all the insides of my computers folders. You know- the one that suggests other places, fold up windows- that one? I have tried everything I can think of- so now I am coming hat in hand and begging- PLEASE!!! HELP ME!! I know this is a simple fix- I just can't think of it.... Thanks!!

Open Explorer and click on 'Folders' icon in Toolbar

Open a folder ...go to Tools > Folder Options > General tab > Tasks > Show common tasks in folders...
