so...iam a kind of newb in desktop custumisation 
i just dowloaded the text based weather and mail plugin, but it doesnt work like i want
first i just want the temperature sign (e.p.: 4°), iam from germany, so it has to be international weather.
second i want a textbased mail sign, it should show if i have mails or not. i just downloaded the one form this site, but it doesnt work really. it changes from "gotmail" to "nomail" wehn it want. seems that the refreh/request doenst work really!

iam searching for a calendar where i only have the days and the number for the days (or something else). i prefer one where i can save some important dates with notes!

For the calender try a free program called Rainlender. You can see it in action here.

They are the small applets below the sysmetrix skin. This guy skins them regularly with his sysmetrix skins. There is also reportedly a new section coming here soon for rainlender skins.

and about your other problems:
1) the weather object that you desribe I think should work internationally (I think). at least I know there are several in the library that do. I am not sure what you are asking about the sybmol? do you not want it to show if its celsius or farenheit? or what?
2) I am not sure why its not working for you. anyway get into edit mode (if you don't know what this is you are probably already in it) and right click on the object and choose properties. go to the states tab and look at the states. they should be labeled "new mail" "no mail" and "mouse away" I think. click on each and see what they say in the text box below. If what they say doesn't match up with its state label then change what it says.

to 2: the text mail thing works, but not at all. i want it everytime up to date, but when i recieved my mails, there is everytime shown up "got mail". sometimes it switches to "no mail", but i dont know why. the only thing i can edit in the conifg iss the "check each:" thing, this is 1 minute. (i download my mails with TheBat from the server!, but it doesnt work if i check mails on server only)

you can do the first for with my text weather object, after a little script editting. I am going to update it pretty soon so that it is configurable without editting it, so if you don't mind waiting a week or 2 I will have a weather object that will do what you want easily. Alternatively if you want I can tell you how to change the script in the one I have here already to make it do what you want. do a search in the dx objects for text weather. mine should show up
I don't know much about the dx mail, but that I don't like it. I prefer to know how much mail I have. I don't know why its not working right for you though.

i just searched after text weather, and if i do so, i see yours and the other i installed YET 
iam not so good at scripting, but if you tell me how i will do it ^^
