Logon Studio Interferes With Hibernation on Laptops (XP)

THings were going well until I closed the lid and it would no longer hibernate. That is a very nice feature to lose. First I killed Sysmetrix but that wasn't it, and after a few tries to verify it, it seems very likely that it was logon studio that busted it. I do seem however to be able to make one studio change and kill studio leaving my new logon page and go back to the system restore at a point before studio. Instead of hibernating it just shuts 'er dowm. I have tried installing, uninstalling, restoring four times now, so it is definitely not a finger problem. I realize it was probably tested on a desktop system and that is why the hiberation anomaly never arose.

Yes, I am myself aswell having problem and am dissapointed that I didn't read this article early... So there's really nothing I can do about it... And I'm not voiding my 4 year warrenty that broken in 3 months.... Any other ideas?

If you just started your warranty, the manufacturer will talk you through correcting the problem, even if it means reinstalling the operating system and starting from scratch, or even shipping the iron off to Kentucky for a month to get fixed. If it's not a laptop, then maybe they'll talk you through a little home repair with the bios or whatever it is that has the system so crazy now. If it is an XP system then on the START menu is the Help and Support option and on that other thread I've posted the direction about how to make your computer start like it did way back when it was working well. This would be better than calling tech support, although they may be able to guide you through it.
Be sure not to mention skins or installing software. For me, it was the boot screen change that caused the problems, which now seem pretty tame compared to what is happening where you are.
I hope you get it back to normal soon. I know life stops when our boxes have issues outstanding.

Here goes agin, and I hope this puts an end to this thread.
Bootskin does not work in the way most people think, it works by redirecting a variable so that it actually looks elswhere for the graphics for a boot screen, in other words it's doing the following
MS say to look in a particular place for the graphics, whereas bootskin says to look elsewhere, thas all it does, nothing more.
There are no files changed only 1 single variable, so it is not at all possible for Bootskin to interfere with the normal running of a computer. As has been said in a previous post, the battery may need changing, take it to a shop and have them change it for you, if you do not wish to change it yourself
