Start 11
Tuesday, September 24, 2024 by kona0197 | Discussion: Personal Computing
So I am using Start 11, latest version. Using the Windows 10 style. No matter what I do, the "New" tag is on some of my recently installed items and never goes away. Is there a fix for this?

Yes I have tried both suggestions. No luck yet. The "New" badges are still there. Maybe a bug in the program?

Have you tried rebooting?

Here is a short video on Start11v2 on Windows 11 and I don't see the new tag. In the video below I just installed ShareX. I can turn off ShareX from showing up in the All program list by turning off the option to show Recently Installed apps. Please post a screenshot or video to show how it look like in your system

I have installed Start11v1.55 and than installed CCleaner on my system, but, I still don't see the "new" tag on my system. Not sure what is going on. However, I have forward your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Bit of an update. This morning all the "New" highlights have disappeared. Thank you for the assistance.

I believe this is a Windows feature which can not be turned off, and the blue "New" on newly installed apps should disappear after 48 hours.
EDIT: I have read on a couple of sites that if you right-click on the app in the All Apps list, the "New" designation will disappear. Try it and see if it works for you. (You might have to do this in the default Windows 11 start menu.)

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, from what I know the new tag will go away by itself, it might be 24 hours or open the application once or twice. Have you tried those?
Thank you.
