Bitmaps to Jpgs advise please

Thursday, January 29, 2004 by dune2996 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

If you spend hours making a clean sharp 16 bitmap (say for a bootskin) then convert to a JPG (for the preview at Wincustomize) there is a great loss of (pixel) image.

Is there any way around this loss (other than) re-rendering in say photoshop or something ?

Yes I have gone the other rought JPG to bitmap but thats almost as bad ?

Normally I end up rendering the same image twice (16 bitmap & Jpg).

Thank you...

Ignore it, as long as the master image is ok, that's all that matters

All my photos on DA are jpg. I save them with minimum compression and you can't really tell the difference. other than the file size dropping from 50Mb to just over 1Mb for the full size scan (TIFF) at 4000x2500. The 1024x768 on DA are a lot smaller of course.
