I was trying to help kona convert a msstyle to windowblind and my windowblind decided to up and quit. It would start and put on the blind and about five seconds later, it takes it off and goes back to classic mode. Its been doing this for a while, but never this badly. So I uninstalled it. Now look what has happened. Please help.

alright the music done packing. off to different things, like putting them on cds. I wish I had another drive, but I am not on the position to get one (financially, or the longitude and latitude).

Travis, regarding the original problem, sounds like you had the theme service disabled in XP, and if so, you probably did it whilst still running one of the default MSstyles.
That would produce the symptoms you experienced.

Scared my willies off.

If Ned Beatty couldn't get down that river in 'Deliverance' this Wombat wouldn't be canoeing around that area .... Wombat666 contemplates the sight of the 'Gorilla's Willies' flying across a broad expanse of water .... probably be the size and shape a couple of Red Kidney Beans!

you´d better listen to Hippy though. his post was the only one that made sense. the rest was just FUD. uxtheme.dll has absolutely nothing to do with the dialog ui of the display properties.

Yes, Hippy is correct. Turn your themes manager back on.

at least you aren't waiting for winrar to finish packing up 5 gigs of music into 650 mb files so you can copy them too disk

man, just get an 80 gig hard drive at office max for 20 bucks after rebates (western digital) and thats all you need man.

well it doesn't matter now. I have uninstalled windowblinds and am running in classic mode. It makes my computer run a lot quicker which helps in the rarring.

Anyway you don't need the thememanager on if you have windowblinds, right?

and I think hippy is right, the symptoms did occur right after I tried to use a msstyle...I did have the thememanager off. I will have to remember that for future reference
