Language Bar in WinXP Home

I know this isn't the place for this question...has nothing to do with skinning, but I figure that there are a lot of computer savy people here so I am giving it a shot:

I am trying to set up so I can type in another language
greek characters. Language Bar doesn't show up and I
cannot use another keyboard layout. I am using XPHome
SP1. This is what I have done so far:

Note: I have been able to insert characters using
Character Map in Word Docs, OE and IE6 (Web Forums)
And I can get the on-screen keyboard to display, but
only with Latin/U.S. English characters.

1.Regional and Language Options-->Languages Tab-->Text
services and input languages-->Details-->Settings Tab--
>Installed services [EN English (United States) Keyboard
US] [EL Greek Keyboard Greek]

2.Regional and Language Options-->Languages Tab-->Text
services and input languages-->Details-->Settings Tab--
>Preferences-->Language Bar-->[Show the Language bar on
the desktop is checked] [Show additional Language bar
icons in the taskbar is checked]

3.Regional and Language Options-->Languages Tab-->Text
services and input languages-->Details-->Settings Tab--
>Preferences-->Key Settings-->Hot keys for input
languages [Switch between input languages-->Left
Alt+Shift]

4. Regional and Language Options-->Languages Tab-->Text
services and input languages-->Details-->Advanced Tab--
>Compatibility Configuration [Extend support of advanced

page conversion tables [10006 (MAC - Greek I) is checked]

i think you just skipped over it.. you've told it to handle the greek input but not to display the type. in Regional and Language settings, go to the languages tab and click Details. you will see some categories under english.. click on 'add' and tlel it you want to add greek as a language, and it will give you a set of familier looking categories under a new greek entry (the tables and conversions and stuff). then- where you saw an input language hot-key, in your number 3, you have left alt shift to switch between input languages, but you have to assign a key to let you switch between the display language. (unless you just delete english). there is no default key set.. if you set that default key, it will ask you to reboot during which time it should install the nessisary fonts.. then hit the display language hot key

Thanks DesignCaddy That worked. Now I can type with Greek characters, but the Language Bar still doesn't show up and the on-screen keyboard still only shows Latin/U.S. English characters. Worse-case....I'll have to make a paper template so I know what the heck I'm typing until I get used to the keyboard layout for Greek characters. Typing 101 all over again

mm onscreen keyboard is an accessability feature, right? might be configured in there. good luck with it.. i never thought of setting windows back to german to brush up on another language.. nice idea

w00t found an answer I downloaded Office XP/2000 Add-in: Microsoft Visual Keyboard

Says in only works with Office XP/2000 but if you open the .exe with WinZip and pull the .msi out and run it....TaDa you got one genuine virtual keyboard that does show the character set your typing with. Even works with notepad
Just click on the titlebar of the proggie you want to type in then click on the titlebar of the keyboard and start typing

I found the language bar finally it has happened to me and I'm just so excited

Right-click Taskbar-->Toolbars-->and there it be
