The problem with bootskins - here is my oppinion and yes jafo, you will get your dollar ;)

I was scrolling trough the bootskinn library because I was surprised that the submissions of this library took the complete 'new skins' box.
I have my account installed that it shows 50 skins a page, scrolling trough the library I might have seen 3 that I actually like.
For seriouse, its a collection of bad rips, rejected wallpapers and the rest have something to do with the matrix, one way or the other.
I think that the moderation should get harder for the bootskins.
I would say that a boodskin should have to pass there rules:
- No 'popular' movie (effects) Are allowed.
- All the work has to be created by the author of the bootskin himself, so no simpson skins or something else.
- It has to have a progress bar.
- cars, dolphins and girls aren't allowed (Styl-X Design ducks for a flying tomato)
- The rating after a month should be above 7 or it will be deleted from the library.
So what about it? Sounds fair not?

Generating excellent graphics in 16 colors I think is a lost art form. I was hoping that the current state of "Bootskin" would spark a resurgence in the form. Unfortunately with only a couple of exceptions most of the bootskins lately seem to poor dithers of high resolution images. For those who are taking the time to create the few wonderful Bootskins, please don't stop!

All pretty good suggestions. I can't say I agree with the last one, though. If the first 4 were put into place and enforced, the last one wouldn't be needed since the flood of Bootskin submissions would likely decrease significantly.
