A good way to put these icons away without deleting? PLEASE READ

Hi all! As u see on this pic (my desktop). I have icons on top. and 3 on bottom. I Would like them to hide or something. No im not going to do toolbar way. I would like to know if maybe its possible to do it so when i right click it shows the programs or something? to keep my desktop clean. I think you get my point. So any programs that do this or any ideas (dont say toolbar). Thanks for any help

I see 5 icons on the bottom

The only way that comes to mind without deleting is right click desktop > arrange icons by > then click on 'show desktop icons'. They'll all disappear and do it again to see them again.

He wants to hide his desktop icons without deleting them to clean it up a bit and also make them reappear to run whatever.

DJ, if he is running XP that would be great...my dad had the same problem with 98....not sure if the others do it or not....but anyways
another way is to have DesktopX.....load a blank theme......check Hide Icons on Desktop.....

.....be careful though, when you get DX2, you will want to keep them bad boys on there

Not what your asking, but for desktops if your not using desktop x and not using it, i'de suggest for all your icons except stuff like garbage bin, my computer, my documents etc you may as well just create a folder name it icons and put it all in there. You don't want a toolbar, but you could always create a bar on the top so your icons are in the bar, but it's not what you want i guess.

Oh yeah, sorry for double posting but you could always get a useful program like sysmetrix to block it.

Tab launchpad? Comes woth Object Desktop. Keyboard Launchpad? That does too.

if you're running DX you can use IconX to make it so that your icons disappear when your mouse is away from them and then re-appear when you mouse over them. of course if you forget where your icons are that could be a problem

Use Iconoid,its free and will hide your icons till you move your mouse.
