Potential dumb question....

Tuesday, January 20, 2004 by TunieV | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Does anyone know how to NOT USE the user image in Windows XP? I have WindowBlinds and many times, my dumb user image interferes with the beauty of the skin. Sometimes I create my own user image to match my wallpaper but there's times when I would like NO user image to appear at all.... Too dumb a question or what?? TIA

If the author puts a user image with his skin....it will be in the same folder as the skin, just browse to it from where you change the user image

Is not a dumb question, but the title is really funny to me.

Sometimes, skinners make the user imege for their skins, you can find it in the skin folder. If it is not included, you can make it using the file that is used to make the top frame of the start menu and manipulate it in a graphic program like Phothoshop, save the file that you just made and then using it to make it look like part of the frame.

I know is not a good explanation, but I'm at work and I don't have my object desktop and my PS to give you an example.

I hope you can understand what I mean.

If you go into Windowblinds User Overides, uncheck 'Show user icon in startpanel (if not on a domain). That should get rid of it

I didn't know that, great.

Hey TunieV, forget about the PS thing, this is a lot easier.

Well you could make a user image that blends into the start menu...

I tried Fuzzy Logic's suggestion but the user image I previously set still shows. I have often made mini versions to go with my scheme but sometimes I just don't want to see a user image at all. Did I do something wrong in WB? Seemed pretty clear cut but didn't work... TIA
