AveDesk and kkmenu: is it possible?

Thursday, January 15, 2004 by Flamedog | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Hey everyone... I'm trying the AveDesk program which is pretty nice and I like it.

I was wondering if it's possible to make it work with the kkmenu docklet for ObjectDock.

I love the kkmenu docklet and I would love to use it with AveDesk as I use it with ObjectDock.

I'll be waiting for an answer from the creator of AveDesk. Thank you.

How do you set it then, because I have problems. The error that it gives me is about the skin file.

Please let me know. Thank you

I'm having errors too, it won't even let me click on it, and instead it keeps repeating the same error!

Well here you have your anwser: It should be possible, but as I never used KKMenu really, I cannot give you a true answer. Perhaps d-shade can give you more information on how to use it.

BTW: It looks like the skin file is located using an absolute path; try placing AveDesk in the object dock folder and than add KKMenu again.

well this is how everything is set up on my computer...
AveDesk is in my Program Files
C:\program files\avedesk

kkmenu is in the docklet folder
C:\Program Files\avedesk\Docklets\kkmenu

my kkmenu.ini is set like this
[Settings]
Skin File Name = "KkSkinMenuAlfonso - d-shade.ini"
Auto Open Delay (in 10ms) = 40

[Sounds]
Menu Opened = "SoundMenuOpened.wav"
Submenu Opened = "SoundMenuOpened.wav"
Command Executed = ""
Command Failed = "SoundCommandFailed.wav"
Item Selected = ""

kkmenu by default looks in the SKINS folder in the kkmenu folder.. all my skins are in
C:\Program Files\avedesk\Docklets\kkmenu\SKINS

currently i have kkmenu running on my avedesk and object dock at the same time..

my object dock has its own copy of kkmenu in the docklet folder..

hope this helps with any questions..

Maybe that is the problem, because KKMenu is using the registry. Try copying avedesk into your object dock folder.
