help with icons on desktop!

Monday, January 5, 2004 by synco | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

For some reason, my icon labels on my desktop always have a coloured 'box' around them now. Some of the icons themselves even have an outline of this same colour. When I click on the icon, it highlights a wee bit, and the coloured box with the icon label type will highlight to the secondary colour of the skin. How can I get rid of this colour around the type of the icon labels? I've gone into display, control panel, My Computer visuals, etc., but nothing seems to work. I'm running XP Pro.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Not sure if this is what I'm thinking it is but go into Control Panel, System, Advanced Tab, Performance Settings and check: Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop.
