1 Doom 3 coming up...

Woohoo, we don't have to wait much longer for the new Doom 3. I just pre-ordered it from EB Games with a little bonus figurine. It should ship in early April, perhaps even late March! (Let's see how that goes). Check http://www.doom3.com for a trailer, screenshots, desktops and links to the pre-order.
I'm just afraid that once I get my hands on this baby, I'm not gonna be able to play it...I think my ass might pinch a tear every minute, cause this is gonna be creepy. We should expect the most realistic stunning graphics in a PC game to date, and Mr. Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails delivers the audio in 6 channel surround. Oooh!

easiest way to sum it up is a Pentium 4 or Athalon XP, 512 megs of RAM and a top end video and sound card will give you the full experience of DOOM III. Although 1GHz CPU 256MB RAM GeForce or Radeon 7xxx series card will be sufficient to play at a minimum.
So older machines should have a chance too

Ah....but 'minimum' may mean a frame-rate of 30 per minute rather than per second....could be a real downer to be in a constant state of 'bullet time'....

Yea, I already checked out the info like a while ago. I downloaded the trailor from somewhere, don't remember where. But Yea, for somebody to play this, you need one hell of a gamming system. I know my video card needs a upgrade to even touch this. Now my 700mhz AMD athlon processor might be another drawl back. But I have a new processor waiting, just need a MB and new ram.

I think I'm set, I got two I,O,U's for chistmas one for DOOM 3, and one for UT2004. With any luck I'll be able to play one while I wait for hardware/driver upgrades for the other. Oh and don't forget about Half Life 2.

I got a new machine during Christmas and New Year, P4 3.0 GHz with Hyperthreading, Asus P4C800 mobo, 1.5 GB DDR PC3200 ram and a Sapphire Radeon 9600 XT, which also included a free copy of Half Life 2 when it's released, so if your getting a new graphics card think ATI. They've got this special deal to offer consumers...

D3 isn't meant to have high framerate, max for it is 30 IIRC even on top systems with full detail perhaps, also it wont be like normal fps type games as D3 will scare the living daylights out of you! hopefully The lighting looks astonishing.
hmm looks like something from The Matrix
Kind of reminds me of The Thing.
That bad boy will be perfect for D3, as ATI's run better on D3, IIRC Carmack was writing a new code path for NVIDIA to get the speed up.
