i just wanna know with wich program that i can save a 16bit image and the resolution don't became cheap??? this question is for the bootskin

It's a 16 color image you need, not 16bit.

For Bootskins, your image must be 16 colors 4 bit. And if I understand what you mean by the resolution becoming cheap..... there is nothing you can do about that. If you're converting an image that has many colors to 16 colors, the image is going to suffer.

16 colours in a 'monochromatic' image will give a reasonable picture quality, but full-colour landscapes, etc when every hue included must be averaged down to 16 only means much detail can be lost.

The trick is to choose the appropriate image to reduce for Bootskin use...
