The only thing this theme does is cause hundreds of pop-ups to people.

I can understand the anger though not the way of expressing it. If it's what I think it is a dodgy plugin fails and pops up repeated Doh! messages until DesktopX crashes. It is an old theme and is quite likely to be using older plugins. Really the whole DesktopX section needs checking by someone to identify any themes that can cause these sort of problems and the authors being notified of it. One of these days I might start the task.

I believe that pipowell is right . I had the same thing happen to me on an old Matrix theme ..Although it's not cool at all i still believe this is the case .

At the very least.. all objects and themes that do not have DX2 support need to be moved out into another section.

Last time I looked, it said "doh", not duhhhhh. Same therory though. That is not a very good error message. Perhaps something like "Plugin no longer supported" would be more appropriate.

I doubt very much it's a DX error message. Probably the plugin. Programmers do have senses of humour you know. I often have problems thinking of good error messages. A common one is 'Uh oh! This isn't supposed to happen.' when an error I never that is never supposed to be hit does get hit. And I WILL take that theme apart and find out which part of it is screwing things up. I have written themes that did a million popups myself before when I put msgbox in the wrong timer by mistake. (ie firing every 20 milliseconds). Easiest solution is to open task manager ASAP and kill the DesktopX process. Then clear the DesktopX\MyName_Theme folder and don't touch that theme again, reporting it politely to the author (if possible) and possibly making a comment to that effect so others may be warned before downloading it.

I once rigged up an error popup for Litestep that read 'Can YOU spell RTFM?'....then figured they'd likely miss the irony...
